Valerie Kirk, artist and Head of Textiles ANU School of Art Canberra was the Australian representative on the International Jury Panel for the 13th International Triennial of Tapestry being held from 10th May to 31st October 2010 in Lodz, Poland. She was asked to select three Australian Textile Artists to participate in the world's most prestigious contemporary textile exhibition. The three artists chosen were, Mandy Gunn, Nalda Searles and Julie Ryder.
