Here and There exhibition
here & there
is
a group exhibition by Julie Ryder, Sharon Peoples and Barbara Rogers
that responds to the concept of time and place – of being in one
geographical location whilst making work about a distant other. For
Ryder this was an Asialink residency in Malaysia; for Peoples, a
pilgrimage to Santiago di Compostella; and for Rogers it was a trip to
Japan to study shibori.
In this exhibition these highly respected textile artists share their journeys through the language of textiles to communicate and articulate their personal experiences of displacement through their craft practices.
The exhibition will be opened by Professor Jessica Hemmings, Head of the School of Visual Culture, National College of Art and Design, Dublin, and editor of 'Cultural Threads: transnational textiles today"

I know these could be considered not a textile but I love panama hats and the pink skirts are beautiful.
